Home renovation shows have been around for decades, starting with originals like "This Old House," which kicked off in 1979, and exploding into an entire cable TV network full of flips, refurbishing, and not just a little domestic drama.

Home improvement television is a hit because it empowers viewers to incorporate new styles or unique or space-saving ideas for their homes. It's exciting (and entertaining) to watch home transformations while learning do-it-yourself tips, inspiration for future projects, home hacks, and organization ideas.

Today, you can find a dizzying array of home renovation shows everywhere. So which ones are worth the watch?
