Adding Interest to a Monochromatic Room

So you love blue - everything in your room is blue. You don't want to change the color, but you would like to add variety to your design. While I do want to talk to you about that color fixation you have, there is a way to add more variety your room. Add texture!

Textured fabrics absorb light in different ways. Because of this property, the colors will vary in how they are perceived by the eye. Textured fabrics will appear darker than shiny fabrics - which will appear lighter. Adding texture will give the appearance of varying shades.

If you want to lessen the intensity of the light in your room, use rough fabrics. The light-absorbing properties will do the trick.
